Kagbeni is a small village of Mustang District. Interspersed with narrow roads. The house and inns themselves are made 
in traditional flat mud roof style with wood for cooking and heating lining out of the roofs. Kagbeni village is famous as religious & touristic destination.

Most of the people of the Kagbeni belong to Buddhism. There is an old Buddhist Gompa named Kag Chode Samphelling Gompa, which is believed founded in 1440 AD. This Gompa is belongs to Sakya-pa school of Tibetan Buddhism.
