Dhumba Lake is situated near the Jomsom Village, at the altitude of 2830 meters above the sea level on the base of the Nilgiri Himal (7125m.). This is a very important sacred lake　the water of this lake is Emerald green. It is believed that Guru Rimpoche Padhmasambhava had practiced the Buddhist rituals here. This lake is also known as emerald lake. According to a legend says the water of this lake turned red on its own and it was only after performing a long and devoted religious ceremony the lake water begun to return to its natural color. We can reach here about two and half hours hiking from the Jomsom Village.
ドゥンバ　レークは　Jomsom　村の近くに　有ります。これは2830メートル　標高、ニルギリ　ヒマラヤの　足元に　有ります。このレークは　申請なレークで、レークの　水は　Emerald グリン色です。チベット仏教の　主な　パドマサンヴぁバ　リンポチェ　が　仏教を　修業した　場所で　有る事が　信じています。この派は　Emerald　レークとも　言われて　います。昔このレークの　水は　急に赤くなってしまって　色々の　お供えお祝い　してから又　自然に　同じ色に　変わりましたと　信じています。Jomsom　村から　二時間半ぐらいの　トレキングで　着きます。

Munktinath　ムクチナート

Munktinath is a small village of Mustang district. This village is situated at the altitude of 3781 m. above from the sea level. The name of the village comes from the famous shrine Muktinath.

Muktinatha temple is situated in northern corner of Lower mustang. The Buddhist calls it “Chuming Gyatsa” or the place of 108 water spouts. The image of Muktinath is worshipped by the Buddhist as 'Avalokitesvara' the god of compassion and as God Naga calls ‘Lwang Ghyalmo’. Hindus hold this to be a reincarnated form of Lord Vishnu giving the rise to the belief that Vishnu himself received salvation here. Devotees takes bath in the 108 water spouts that are formed in the shape of various animals, with a wish to wash away their sins. Sourounding of this area there is a famous Buddhist Gompa call Jwala mai where found burning a fire with water.

ムクチナートは　ムスタングの　小さな村です。この村は３７８１メートルの　標高に　あります。この村は　アンナプルナ　ラウンド　トレキングの内　通る村です。ムクチナートは　神様の名前でムクチナート寺院が　あります。この寺院はヒンズ教と　仏教　両方の　神聖な　聖地です。このへんは　１０８　湧き水の　水道が有ります。

仏教では　この寺院は　かんのん様で、Ｃｈｕｍｉｎｇ　Ｇｙａｔｓａと　言います。又　Ｌｗａｎｇ　Ｇｙａｌｍｏ　とも言います。この回りでは　沢山の　修道院が　有ります。ヒンズ教では　保存者の神　ヴィシュヌ神の化身です。この神様にお供えすると　救済受けられると　信二っています。ここは　ネパールだけではなく　インドからも　多くの　信者が　訪れます。

'Bisket Festival' A New year`s festival of Bhaktapur.
Bisket is a big festival of Bhaktapur. It is also known as New year`s festival. It starts from10 april to 17 april.
The New year of Nepali Calendar is on 14 April. The main attraction of this festival is chariot festival which is know as “Bhailakha”. The festival starts from the center of the city at Taumadhi square as the compitition of chariot pulling. It is irrected the 'yoshin' or 'Lingo' (a religious wooden pole with two symbolic flags (symbol of the two serpents) during this festival, in Bhelukhel of Bhaktapur.
The folk-lore as it tells about the sluttering of a pair of snakes by a handsome youth bestowed with Tantric empowerment is the central point of the festival. It is said that two serpents came out of the nostrils of a beautiful princess at mid night while sneezing. They grew at huge shape in the twinkling of an eye and took the life of these persons who slept with the princess. As always the serpents were about to sting one of the youthful persons in the hot bet, one night. The meticulous person caused the serpents breath their last with his Tantric power.

Having found the person alive and the serpents dead, the following morning, Vishwo Mall the then ruler brought the practice of hosting two long flags in a big long wooden pole. Symbolically enough the banners were designed after the shape of the deceased serpents. The big long pole meant for hoisting the flags were addressed-yoshin-the pole of love and remained popular among the local peoples of these days. The hoisting of the serpent shaped flags are annually observed with great enthusiasm, The banners are also known as BISHO DHOJA after Bisho Malla.
The mythical belief considers the firmament and the earth as the divine male and female object in the form of Bhairab and Bhadrakali respectively.

It says that the mating between the sky and the earth has made the creation possible on our planet. The rain that showers from the sky to the earth is considered the life giving element while the earth the creative base, and the hole in which the yoshin-pole is erected is the symbol of the female reproductive organ. So the Bisket is also a festival of the mating of the Bhairab and the Bhadrakali. The metallic icon of Bhairab and the Bhdrakali is brought out of the temples four days earlier to the erection of the Yoshin-pole. They are enthroned on the respective chariot called Bhaila kha (chariot) and the Nakinju kha (chariot). The Bhailakha & the Nakinjukha are voluntarily drawn by the festive people with great excitement. The Bhairab and Bhadrakali are respectively addressed as Bhaila Deo and Nakinju Ajima in local dialect.

Essentially the concept of the festival is based on conjugality, creation and continuity of the life. On the last day of the year by the evening the Bhairab and Bhadrakali chariots are drawn toward Yoshin-khyo-where the Yoshin-pole is erected. The Yoshin pole is erected by the late evening. A mammoth crowd in participation exclaims joy in songs. The energetic youths tend to reach the top of the pole climbing up the big dangling ropes aiming to pick up adjusted on the top. The treat behind the endeavors is furnished with a belief; if one who would pick up the green shrub from the top of Yoshin-pole is the lucky one for a male child to give forth. The pole remains perpendicular to the sky and the earth for 24 hours, and the evening is followed by a big feast all over Bhaktapur.
Nakinjukha
The dawn of the New year turns to a joyous moment for all Bhaktapurians. Most of them get assembled to the Yoshin Khel in early hours of the morning. Paying, homage and sacrificial Puja to the Bhairab & the Bhadrakali becomes the scenario of the morning through mid day eve. The cheerful appearance & the festive gala signifies voluptuous moment of life on the advent of the new Bikram era.
The Yoshin-Pole is pulled down to the ground by the evening. Mammoth crowd assembled on the eve give expression to their joyful mind with the seasonal melodies enchanting every now and then. Seasonal tunes in flutes, drums, symbols and other musical instruments are the attractive features of the event.
People get concentrated to pull the Bhairab & Bhadrakali chariots. They are pulled toward the GAHITI tole section. At mid night the Bhairab & Bhadrakali chariots are collided symbolizing copulation. But this time the Bhairab chariot does not move even a single inch. It is the Bhadrakali who keeps passionately dashing over the Bhairab at mid night.

Tilicho is a world`s highest lake. This lake is situated at altitude of 4919 metre above the sea level. Lenght of this lake is 4 km. and 1.2 km. width. This lake is 85 meter depth and it covers 4.8 sq. km. area. There are 115 million litres volume of water in this lake. The source the water of this lake are Tilicho peak, Meshokanto peak, Idam phra glacial etc. The surrounding mountais of this lake are Tilicho, Khansar, Nilgiri and Muktinath peaks. Lonicera spinosa, Oxygraphis, Alpine buttercup, Alpine atragalus, Cargana, Primrose, Gentians, Edelweiss etc. Floaras are available in this area. Snow leopart and Blue sheep are also available here.

Bhaktapur is one of the smallest historical royal towns as and regarded cultural capital in the valley. It was also the ancient capital of the Malla ruler. Historically the city was built in the 9th century (889 A.D.) during the reign of king Anand Deva. However, it might be older than that. The city was originally built in the shape of a sacred conch (shell), which is associated with Lord Vishnu, the Lord protector. It is also believed that the city was built in the shape of Mandala (Mandala is a one kind of graphic chart of ritual interpretation of Hindu or Buddhist deities). Eight Mother Goddess were installed at eight geometrical corners of the city and in the center of the city, there is one Mother Goddess, for the divine protection of the city.
Bhaktapur is the house for over a hundred temples, Shrine and “Math” (Ancient buildings built for the purpose of accommodating priests and visitors) with rich architecture and master craftsmanship on wood, metal and stone of ancient and medieval period. It is a living museum by its self-offering the aroma of the 17th century, while wandering through it is narrow tranquil lanes paved with bricks. And the UNESCO has included this wonderful city in world heritage sites in 1978 AD.
After the establishment of the democracy in the country in 1950 the government adopted open door policy for all the foreigners. And then tourists started to visit Nepal as well as Bhaktapur. Now more than 100,000 tourists visit Bhaktapur every year. No authentic data of the tourists arrival could be obtained, before the municipality started to taking the entrance fee in the city.
Bhaktapur municipality began to take entrance fee to tourists on 21 July 1993 for visiting the city. A Japanese lady was the first to pay the entrance fee of Rs. 50 as per rule of the municipality. From 1998 it started to take entrance fee to tourists from SAARC country too. (Source: Tourist service center Bhaktapur 2004)
The above table shows the total tourist arrival in Bhaktapur. There is not any authentic data available of tourists visiting Bhaktapur before the local municipality started charging an entrance fee in Bhaktapur. It started taking entrance fee to tourists in 21 July 1993. This year a total of 41896 tourists visited the Bhaktapur City. In 1994, 94121 tourists arrived in the city. In 1995 - 106,896 tourists visited the city. 112,992 tourists visited the Bhaktapur City in 1996. In the year of 1997, 114,473 tourists came to Bhaktapur. In 1998, 188,102 tourists arrived in the city. In 1999, the tourist arrival in the city increased. It was 202,688, which is historic record. Since 2000 the number of tourists visiting Bhaktapur has been decreasing. This year the total number of tourist visitors was 187,465. In 2001- 127,030 tourists had visited the city. In 2002 only 80,774 tourists arrived in Bhaktapur and finally in 2003 a total of 106,491 tourists visited the City.So, according to above table the number of tourists arrival has decreased since the year of 2000. It is possibly due to the prevalent bad political situation and Maoist problem. At the beginning of the entrance fee system in Bhaktapur, the visitors from Saarc countries were not needed to pay any entrance fees. But since 1998 Municipality has begun to take entrance fee to visitors from the Saarc countries also.

The country extends between 80°26’and 88°12’east longitude and between 26°26’ and 30°27’ north latitude. The country extends for 800 kilometers (550 miles) from east to west with a width of 130 to 240 kilometers (150 miles) from north to south and resembles an elongated rectangle. It is a landlocked country, which is lied between two giant countries China and India. Nepal is a home place of natural beauty with biodiversity. Nepal is divided geographically as threepart as Himalan region, Hill region And Terai region,

The Himalayan Region ;

The Himalayan range makes up the northen border of the country and represents 16% of the total land area of Nepal. The northern range (Himalayas) is covered with snow over the year Gorgeous mountains, high peaks, where the highest peak of the world Mount Everest stands. The altitude of 8848 meters Mt. Everst aparse vegitation is found ou to 3000 meters above the sea level.

The Hill Region;-

This region covers 65%of the total land area of the country. Kathmandu, the capital of the country of Nepal, is loketed here. Elevations range from 500 to 3000 meters above sea level.

The Terai Region;-

The terai covers 17% of the tatal area of Nepal. It provides excellent farming lad and the average elevation of flatlands is 100 to 300 meters above sea level. The southern range (tarai) is the gigantic plain of alluvial soil and insists of dense sub tropical forest area, national parks, wildlife resources and conservation areas.

The temperature and the rainfall differ from place to place. In the geographic diversity and varied climatic conditions, 2.5 million people of more than 60 ethnic groups & more than 70 deffirent languages are accommodated in the country.
