Kagbeni

Kagbeni カグベニ

Kagbeni is a small village of Mustang District. Interspersed with narrow roads. The house and inns themselves are made in traditional flat mud roof style with wood for cooking and heating lining out of the roofs. Kagbeni village is famous as religious & touristic destination.
This Kagbeni area is famous trekking route of the Annapurna Round Trekking route, Mustang trekking route, Muktinath Trekking route trekking route etc.
The population of Kagbeni village is 406, ethnically 310 peoples are belongs to Gurung (Bhotia) 82 peoples are Thakuri and 14 peoples belongs to Kami Damain. Most of the people of the Kagbeni belong to Buddhism. There is an old Buddhist Gompa named Kag Chode Samphelling Gompa, which is believed founded in 1440 AD. This Gompa is belongs to Sakya-pa school of Tibetan Buddhism.
